Development Assistant II

SUMMARY
This position provides administrative and clerical support, as well as event planning and logistical support, to the Capital Campaign team. The Development Assistant II reports to the Deputy Director of Development.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Prepare acknowledgments and pledge reminder letters as well as other materials, at times coordinating large mailings
• Provide planning and logistical support for donor stewardship and cultivation events
• Input and maintain donor and prospect records in the fundraising database (Raiser’s Edge); create reports, lists and spreadsheets as requested.
• Maintain paper files
• Assist with the coordination of, and track, the activities of volunteer solicitors
• Assist with the production of campaign materials and event invitations
• Schedule appointments and meetings as needed
• Produce miscellaneous correspondence, assist with special projects as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s Degree
• 1 year or more of administrative experience required. Previous experience in Development office preferred
• Ability to work in a high-pressure environment for several people with competing demands and priorities
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work flexibly and in a team environment.
• Able to maintain the confidentiality of highly sensitive information and documents
• Excellent writing, editing and proofreading abilities as well as strong analytical and reporting skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, Raiser's Edge for Windows preferred); familiarity with database systems; able to work at computer up to 85% of time
• Willing to work nights and weekends as needed
• Ability to move from place to place; use a computer terminal and telephone; able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds short distances; can bend, twist, reach, grasp
