Development/Membership Assistant I

SUMMARY
This position provides administrative and logistical support for the Membership department. Primary responsibilities include returning member calls in a timely manner, processing and fulfilling memberships. The Development/Membership Assistant I reports directly to the Membership Director.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Process Memberships gifts while maintaining strict quality control guidelines for data entry.
• Prepare receipts, acknowledgement letters and coordinate delivery of benefits packets
• Provide customer service support to Member requests via phone and email. Resolve Member issues and a timely and professional manner.
• Provide Membership Director with ongoing input from Members and communicate problems and suggestions.
• Provide assistance and logistical support for Membership events, including Members’ Evening Hours, Member Special Events.
• Provide quality customer service support as needed via phone, visitor services desk and Membership Kiosk.
• Carry out general office duties including fulfilling donation requests.
• Support Membership Director and Membership Staff as needed by performing clerical duties such as receiving deliveries, faxing, photocopying and scheduling meetings.
• Maintain organization of membership materials and inventory both in office and onsite at the museum.
• Assist with other duties & projects as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum BA or BS Degree or combination of education and work experience.
• Organized, detail-oriented and able to work flexibly and independently.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. Raiser’s Edge for Windows preferred, familiarity with database systems and able to work at computer 80% of the time.
• Ability to work nights, weekends and early mornings as needed.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and be flexible under a variety of circumstances; diplomatic and decisive. Ability to balance several priorities.
• Move from place to place, lift and carry up to 25 pounds short distances, ability to use general office equipment.
