Human Resources Administrator II

SUMMARY
The HR Administrator II position provides journey-level support in all aspects of HR, including the development, implementation, and maintenance of the HRIS system, hiring, new-employee orientation, salary administration, training, performance appraisal monitoring, and assistance with communication and administration of policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Manage iVantage HRIS system, as system administrator responsible for system upgrades, compliance and accuracy.
• Assure integrity of employee data and salary information.
• Assist managers with hiring cycle, including development of job announcements, posting, receipt and review of applications, and assistance with interview process.
• Transmit time-sensitive employee information to payroll and benefits coordinator
• Maintain HR web page with updated employee resource materials
• Submit monthly HR billing to Finance
• Conduct new employee orientations
• Assist with employee training
• Oversee performance appraisal system
• Disseminate HR-related information internally and externally
• Assign and oversee work completed by OD Assistant and Volunteer
• Handle on-going administration of policies and procedures and employment practices
• Keep current on changing laws/regulations and keep managers informed
• Represent the department at internal and external meetings as required
• Perform additional duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• BA in human resources, psychology, sociology, or a closely related field
• 3 years increasingly responsible experience as an HR generalist, or an equivalent combination of related training and experience
• Strong interpersonal communication, writing and organizational skills
• Ability to handle confidential information with great sensitivity
• Able to exercise good judgment to resolve problems, make recommendations, or seek guidance
• Highly organized; able to effectively handle priorities, deadlines and details
• Able to analyze HR procedures and recommend changes for increased efficiency
• Able to communicate with all levels of employees effectively and confidentially
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
• Prior experience in a unionized work setting helpful
• Familiar enough with wage and hour laws and regulations to submit payroll information
• Knowledge of, and experience with, a unionized environment and contract administration
• Prior experience in a not-for-profit desirable.
