Job Summary: Reporting to the President and CEO of Old Sturbridge Village, the Director will manage Coggeshall Farm Museum (CFM) and all its related projects, programing, and events. They will develop and initiate new programs, while supporting the growth and development of existing ones. This position will require strong interpersonal skills and five years of experience managing high-functioning teams. We are looking for a leader with high energy and the ability to energize others. This role will ensure Old Sturbridge Villages commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility.

Our next Executive Director will have a vision for excellence for the Farm. Successful execution includes outstanding communication, collaboration, innovation and organization. The museum has an operating budget of approximately $400,000 and a staff of about six people. We are preparing to celebrate the museums 50th anniversary in 2023 and are seeking a leader who can chart a course for the next several years.
In 2020, Coggeshall Farm Museum and Old Sturbridge Village entered into an innovative management partnership that leverages the capacity of OSV to support the administrative functions of CFM.

Set on 48 acres of coastal farmland in Bristol, Rhode Island, Coggeshall Farm recreates the daily experience of tenant farmers on a salt marsh farm in the late 18th century. With a new, innovative partnership with Old Sturbridge Village, Coggeshall will expand and enhance the visitor experience through live interpretation, new programming, historic structures, heirloom plants and gardens, and heritage-breed animals.

Bachelors degree in history, farming and/or education is preferred, but is not required.
Must have at least 5 years of leadership experience.
Demonstrated sound and consistent judgment, initiative and the ability to deal with complex, evolving situations.
Prior experience working in non-profit organizations, is preferred but not required.
Experience managing, training and mentoring staff.
Ability to work cooperatively with diverse groups.
Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adept at prioritizing and managing multiple tasks.
Commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.

Essential Duties:
Lead and manage the museums growing staff of educators and interpreters.
Oversee the maintenance of the site and the care of its historic and modern buildings, and its landscape.
Create innovative special programs designed to grow our audience and better engage our visitors.
Lead the development of rigorous/engaging education programing. Engage the local school districts, re-establishing CFM as a school trip destination.
Manage all collaborative relationships with key strategic partners, vendors and volunteers.
Work with Development to create donor opportunities at the Farm Museum and to engage donors and members on site.
Promotes diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility.
Collaborate with OSV Leadership on the development of annual operating and capital budgets and manage cost centers.
Ensure high performance from all employees of the museum and collaborate with OSV to provide exceptional training and professional development for all staff.
